I lOvE yoU GraNnY!
This is a picture of some of my family that met in Kentucky
A couple of weeks ago I got a horrible phone call that my Granny had a massive stroke after a routine operation and was not going to make it. It is one of those unexpected calls that seem to hit you right in the stomach. My granny lived in Morgantown Kentucky. She was the best granny that anyone could ever ask for! because she lived so far away, I had not seen her in almost fours years! I was able to go back to Kentucky for her services. Although it was such an unexpected and sad time, it was great to be gathered with family I have not seen since I was a little kid. All my cousins were there and we were able to talk about granny and what she meant to us, as well as all our sweet memories at her house together. I love my Granny so much and I know she loves me. I know that even though she is not on this Earth anymore, that I will see her again and that she is happy and free of all her pain now! I love you GRANNY! I will miss you!

We're Back!
So it seems that our digital camera, didnt take to well to the sand. We have been camera less for the last couple weeks in attempts to fix ours. We enjoyed some beautiful weather over the weekend, and a new married activity Nick and I both agree on. Living by the beach, we would hardly be considered locals without surfboards. Nick and I recently each bought surfboards and wet suits, and have finally come to an agreement on an activity we both enjoy. I will post pictures very soon of our surfing adventures! We also enjoyed an evening out to Morro Bay, with our beloved Abbey Lynn. (Yes typically every Friday we do take our dog with us out on our dates. We have come to know all the patio, dog-friendly restaraunts on the central coast. We realize how pathetic that sounds, and also that it is probably time to have a kid.)

Mom and Abbey at the Beach
We are not sure why but, Abbey loves to dig on the beach. She flings the sand everywhere like she is trying to dig to China. Then she lays in her hole and relaxes.
We had a great weekend celebrating the 4th of July. Nick and I were able to spend the weekend together. The wonderful beach town that we live in- Cayucos, throws a big 4th of JUly bash every year! People swarm into town from all over the place. In fact we came over last year for the celebration before we ever thought of living here. The best part is, that now we live here in the heart of all the action! We woke up and walked up the street to watch the parade in the morning. Then after, we walked down to the beach where me and Abbey layed out while Nick did some body boarding. In the afternoon we rode our bikes downtown to enjoy some pizza from the street faire that was going on. By the afternoon the Salvesen's showed up and it was time to BBQ. The Crumps also came up to join us! We enjoyed eating together and it was even more amazing that I was the host and put together a great BBQ dinner. I guess I really am a grown up! haha! To top the night off we headed back down to the beach to watch the firework show! What a wonderful day! It was great to have some time off and be together!Monday, June 30, 2008
Sunday Family Bike Ride
Since Nick and I have gotten new bikes, we decided to take them for a Sunday spin. We did not want to leave our little princess Abbey home alone. However, the basket Nick bought for her to ride in on the front of my bike, just would not sustain all seven pounds of her. So Nick being the creative man he is came up with another solution. We bungee corded a laundry basket to the back of the bike stuck some towels in it. Custom car seat!! Luckily Abbey didn't try and jump out, and I didn't tip over! Overall it was a fun family event!!
Hooray! Nick is finally a Cholo!
I guess growing up in Santa Maria has motivated Nick to want a low rider. So after searching on craigslist for weeks Nick found his match. Talk about custom... Chrome exterior, Velvet black seat (you may not be able to see this important upgrade from the photos), 100 spoke rims, spin like handle bars! This is the bike any cholo would dream for, and I guess it made Nick's dream come true!

- Monday afternoon icecream cones from Mcdonald's followed by a trip to the Rec center for a night of swimming.
- Macaroni and hot dogs for dinner! (you did your best Dad!)
- Road trips where Dad supplied plenty of marker's and pictures to color. Just don't make him stop the van!!
- Feeding the ducks at the park on Sunday afternoons.
- Visiting Dad's work while he played basketball with his friends. Then getting popcorn.
- Camping at Leeman Caves! (don't forget I won the burping contest!)
- Cafe Rio lunches!!!
- Watching late night Meteor Showers!
I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful Dad in my life! I will always be Daddy's little girl!!
